The IDA are targeting the Artemis Lodge in Celaeno for repair. Anyone willing to help is welcome. So far this player group has made major contributions to fix 6 of the Damaged Stations in the Pleiades.
However, the IDA and AGEIS didn’t have a good week, the Tembala system was attacked. This is in part due to the new classes of vessels we have been encountering. Eagle Eye reports that HIP 44811 & Wolf 636 have been targeted by the Thargoids. HIP 44811 has low organic traffic so it could possibly do with more support. The Aegis Megaships (Vanguard and Acropolis) are located in HIP 44811 at 50,730ls from starfall and Wolf 636 (which is only 97ly from Sol) at 857ls from starfall respectively.

IDA Update – Titan’s Daughter in Taygeta was completed Friday, impressive as it started out with some of the largest requirements of any starport – big props to Operation IDA. They’re now working on Artemis Lodge, as can be seen from the weekly figures. The ETAs should now be more accurate as the 3.1 changes have rolled through. (Thanks to Cmdr Factabulous)

IDA reports the repair bug which has been plaguing their efforts in the Pleiades has been fixed and so are redoubling their efforts to take repair.
Anti-Xeno-League and Cannon have reported that the Eagle Eye Network is pointing at Deciat, Large amount of Non Human USS’s have been spotted in the system. However, the AGEIS Megaships are nowhere near it, so the High Paying Thargoid Massacre missions won’t count in the defense of Deciat. If we lose this system, do we lose the Engineer as well as the station?
Cmdr Drakins from the East India Company for helping us stockpile Lavian Brandy on Monday whilst LRN was between Lockdown and Civil Unrest.
“Certain Alliance factions” who don’t like LRN having Lave are actively murdering our ships which is causing these states. We’re doing what we can to counter it, but they seem to be insisting on locking Lave Station down, removing the brandy and stopping ppl from unlocking Didi Vatermann in Leesti.
On Monday as we were between states we helped to resupply the EIC and if listeners need brandy to unlock the engineer whilst supplies are low then contact Cmdr Eid LeWeise or Cmdr Whoeva in game and we can help you out.
EIC have asked us to let commanders know that most trades will take place within 24-48 hours depending on the availability of the goods and our traders.

AXL (Anti Xeno League) has managed to defend the systems against thargoid attack for the fourth week running. This week’s targets, according to the Eagle Eye system are, Kambila and Assinda. It appears that the Thargoid have now discovered all the INRA bases that we know of and the AEGIS Megaships appear to be missing (as of Friday Morning!).

Story Time with Allen – the real story of Lave Radio Episode 1
Here at the Lave Radio Network, we have increasingly become aware of expansionist interfering policy in corners of space that don’t welcome the Alliance. A spearhead heading for Sol and disrupting independent systems at a time the galaxy needs unity and the pilots federation to work together.
The 900 Alliance systems in the galaxy are dwarfed by the 5100 Imperial, 5700 Federal and nearly 9000 Independent worlds. One system, a beacon of genuine independence and the hub for galactic media broadcasts became the figurehead that they felt the need to repress.
What started as an ultimatum and an attempt at gunboat diplomacy has been dressed, in true crocodile tears fashion as a treaty. A treaty that was never ratified, never voted on by the people of Lave and is now being used as justification for conflict and the imposition of suffering on those same people.
However. The people of Lave have voted. They voted for independence, for community and for the colour Orange. The Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corp seek to overturn this by non democratic means and as such are simply a hostile foreign power, using local faction representatives as their patsies.
The Lave Radio Network believes in self determination for the future of the people of Lave and will defend with all its means their right to listen to the radio from a station they govern themselves.
We appreciate the Alliance – we love the Chieftain and are looking forward to testing out the new ships coming soon. The Alliance does indeed have “history” at Lave; indeed Lave Radio’s station Commander, the notable historian Dr Allen Stroud has studied the struggle that saw the Lave System join the Alliance of Independent Systems and has published an Article in the June 3304 edition of Sagittarius Eye highlighting the recent history and factions within Lave. Lave Radio Network also has history in Lave, forming in 3299 and being ratified by the Pilots Federation in 3302. However the recent focus of some elements within Alliance has been in causing trouble in other systems, Lave Radio Network firmly believes that instead of absentee landlords and being drawn into other people’s conflicts, Lave deserves truly independent rule. We would welcome a genuine treaty with the Alliance, an agreement that Lave remains fully self governing in return for our support against the Thargoid threat as and when it comes to the old worlds – a treaty agreed by BOTH parties.
Don’t give in to destruction, authority assaults and pirate tactics – they’re beneath the Alliance – be part of peace and harmony in the Lave System.

Since the fall of Galcop, The Lave System has long been repressed, first by the ruthless and suspiciously long lived Dr. Waldon and since 3265 by their so called liberators, the Alliance who continue to relagate this system to a backwater world for their own benefit.
The Free Citizens of Lave reached out, begging to have their voice heard; and heard it was, by one motley crew broadcasting from an Orange Sidewinder and hosted by a Vending Machine Repair Man… Lave Radio. Working together with the commmunity Lave Radio Network, a non profit organisation have fought off the more militant factions of the Alliance and have secured Castelan Station, which played a key part in Lave’s Revolution as well as the Asteroid Base Warinus and now is the time! We need all commanders who believe in independance to help our citizens vote!
Lave Fortune Organisation is determined to keep Lave a puppet of the Alliance. Even more worryingly we hear that some pilots have threatened Murder upon honest commanders flying in Lave, in a move that runs counter to all the principals that the Alliance of Independant Systems holds incredibly strongly
Lave Radio Network believes in freedom, believes in independance and believes in a FREE LAVE!
Vote Lave Radio Network.
What can I do to help?
Hand in navigation data (ideally one system at a time because of how the BGS gives preference to transactions rather than quantity) to either Warinus or Castellan Station

Also a tease that something else Elite related is on the cards for Spidermind Games “Well they say that there is no rest for the wicked and for us this is especially true. Keep an eye on this blog for news of an exciting new Elite Dangerous product for anyone who loves non-video Elite Dangerous gaming but can’t get the gang around for a session of EDRPG.”
All profits from trading activities will be increased (the amount of profit will vary depending on what you are shipping and where you’re shipping it to. Rare commodities are excluded from this bonus.)
The materials requested for engineering recipes will be at one rank below the existing ones (cheapening the current cost of engineering your modules.)

This weeks Eagle Eye Systems to defend are LTT 8648 and Lalande 4141 after another week of successful defence by the Anti Xeno Initiative. The AEGIS Ships in Aegis Mega-ships were dispatched to Coquim and LHS 1453 (neither of which were Eagle Eye targets) and wrecked Mega-ships were found in several systems nearby. Cannon’s Lab 69 AIX speculates that both Achenar and Sol are the intended destinations of current Thargoid Activity. (Possible biological attack to disable the governments? Payback for INRA?)
IDA is continuing to haul repair supplies to Titan’s Daughter.
As part of the Bucky Ball Base Jumping (where we are based tonight) at 19:00 game-time tomorrow (Wednesday) night quite a few people will be running the mountain (including folks from Fighter Club I believe). We have an idea to attempt a Gloucester Cheese run (not quite sure what, or who, the cheese will be yet). So even moar maddness bouncing down the hill!
Commander Caractacus_Potts via email (firstname.lastname@example.org)TLDR Is Horizon’s not pay to win too Shan? Guardian and Engineering require Horizons, which is paid for DLC.I sure do love your show, keep up the great work. You have such a great mix of people, with fascinating guests, and I enjoy every episode. Ok, enough fluff, on to the meat of things.I have really been surprised that in your discussions of open only Powerplay that a comparison to Horizons has never come up.
Statements were made that open only would introduce a pay to win element to the game, as those on consoles would have to pay to participate in Powerplay. If a console person wanted the weapons and such that are available only thru pledging to a power, it would cost.
But does not the same hold true with Guardian technology? To get any of that, you have to land on a planet, and that requires Horizons, which costs money. When Frontier released Horizons, did they break the pledges that Shan had researched, or at the later date when the Guardian tech dropped in the game? Or did they sidestep it by doing it in two phases? I don’t recall hearing of a similar upset about that. Since it sounds like Guardian tech is almost a prerequisite for serious Thargoid hunting, and if open only Powerplay is pay to win, then needing Horizons to get Guardian tech certainly makes all the Beyond chapters pay to win as well.
But I don’t consider any of that “pay to win”. There is no win or lose in this game, just participation and progression. If you want to engage in certain aspects of the game, these are the modes of play and costs associated. No big deal. If I want to do any missions that require landing on a planet, I need Horizons. I want to do that, so I pay. Seems reasonable to me, and I don’t see any fundamental principles broken.
Personally, open only is what will settle my decision to engage in Powerplay. I don’t PvP, but all 200 hours or so of my time has been in the open. It is the fact that I am in the galaxy with other commanders that makes Elite so appealing. Listening to your Battle for Lave podcasts really opened my eyes to the intricacies of it, which I find fascinating, but it is the ability to team up with other commanders to accomplish shared goals that really hooks me. But not if I am playing against people that I can’t counter. I understand that instancing and other technical issues won’t make this a perfect system, there will likely always be some sort of exploit, but in my eyes, the idea of engaging with other commanders is fundamental principle of Powerplay, and that necessitates open only. If Frontier chooses to keep solo as an option, then I won’t participate. It is not a big deal, I have plenty of other things to do in this galaxy. But it seems to me that with solo players and bots making the efforts of commanders playing in open seem so futile, that the number of commanders willing to fight that hard for nothing will dwindle, and the bots will end up running the galaxy. I, for one, welcome our new Borg overlords!!!
All the best, Commanders.
CXXXS on Reddit Sorry if it’s been asked before, but is there any chance your podcast may one day be available on Spotify? I’ve recently made a switch to it as my primary podcast app. Just curious.
Ben has filled out a form to hopefully get LR into Spotify and Google Play (possibly only in the US)
From Eric E Devo on Twitter :- I love this cast, and this community. Perhaps you can recruit an optimist or two for the upcoming content reviews – it seems like the podcast has become about 20 minutes of good content with an hour of whinging tacked on. There must be some optimism among you, surely
