Development News – what have the devs said this week?

1. Frameshift Live #31
   1. Update 16 1st week in August
   2. Update 17 is coming this year
   3. There’s a new hunter class coming (pretty sure it’s going to be called a scythe given the gigantic clue max dropped) it’s got double the amount of spinny arms and deploys thargoid style collector limpets.
      Also Derin was in chat and referred to the new hunter class goid as “my baby”..
   4. The chat was talking about the ax reactivation missions and the programming of what the revenants can do, how they see, why they choose to throw bombs when they haven’t actually seen you yet, a silly clip of a sticky bomb sticking to a cmdrs visor which is why their bombs no longer stick to the player, and then a section talking about how excited they are.

Tom also mentioned seeing a halo Dev talk about only adding new things in when they have a specific purpose, for example there was at the time only one sniper rifle in halo because there was only one sniper role and likened it to this new hunter with the limpets, and if that is the ethos at the moment it would go some way to explain why we haven’t had any new player ships for as long as we have.
