On June 3, Elite Dangerous: Horizons comes to Xbox One featuring both Planetary Landings and The Engineers at launch.
£19.99 ($29.99, €24.99, 1,489 RUB) for the expansion
We’re very pleased to announce that we’re planning to release The Engineers 2.1 update on Thursday May 26th for all those who own the Elite Dangerous: Horizons expansion pass on PC.
With the launch of The Engineers on Tuesday, we wanted to celebrate with a launch livestream. We’ll be inviting a number of Elite Dangerous developers to come and chat on the stream during the expected server down time on the day. Join us from 1PM BST on May 26 on our official YouTube channel.
Get specific mods by ‘Calling in Favours’ with Engineers – Quote from Sandy
For the clarity!
When you call in a favour – YOU GUARANTEE THE EXPERIMENTAL EFFECT YOU WANT *and* YOU GUARANTEE THAT THIS EFFECT IS GENERATED FOR THE UPGRADE . Nothing in this procedure is random .
This is regardless of what the crafting process initially resulted in.
For example, if you did not get an experimental effect – calling in a favour gives you the one you want.
On the other hand, if you generated an experimental effect that you did not want – calling in a favour gives you the one you want.
Also, this option is available AFTER you have generated an upgrade, so you can decide whether you want to call in a favour after you have seen what the primary and side effect results were.”
Rise To Power: Dangerous Games, WILDCARD CORRECTION
Basically EG pilots aren’t through to the final. The top 5 from the votes will have a mini CG tournament and the winner will go through to the final.
For piracy flag targets, if the target is not a mission target, check if it has a leader and whether that leader is a mission target
Add a faction government test so the pesky democracies don’t make my greedy corporation shout “For Democracy!”
Fix the method that determines whether we can see planetary missions
Added popup explaining where pinned recipes can be found
Recipes should now be referred to as blueprints
Stop hitmen being sent after the player for no reason
Rebalance the tutorials to be reasonable with the new AI
Adjusted the shield-down flee behaviour to be less frustrating
Everybody docked at Jaques Station has retreated to a safer distance
– Fixed issues with recalled ships boosting when trying to land
Everybody docked at Jaques Station has retreated to a safer distance
– Feedback tweaks to torpedos:
– Torpedos now have a 2.5 second arming time rather than their previous 0.5 second. When hitting a target before arming they will deal no damage and self destruct in a small puff
– Torpedos now inherit the speed of their launching ship for the first few seconds of flight, before dropping to a 250m/s cruising speed. These two changes give them an effective minimum range of about 700m+ depending on ship speeds, and also means that you won’t be running into the back of your own torpedos!
Halve firing heat from missiles
Could this mean stealth missile boats?
– Added ship voice notification when a mission specific USS has spawned
“From the desk of lead designer Sandro Sammarco”: is very interesting
Rise To Power: Dangerous Games, WILDCARD vote is over
URGENT CORRECTION TO SHOW (from the desk of Zac Antonaci)
EG pilots aren’t straight through to the final. The top 5 from the votes will have a mini CG tournament and the winner of that will go through to the final.
For the past week player factions have been campaigning for your votes in the first stage of the Dangerous Games to decide which five groups will battle it out in a mini-series of CGs in their bid to become an official Power in the game.
The results have been counted and checked and they are as follows:
– EG Pilots – 25.5
– Wolves of Jonai – 15.5%
– Adle’s Armada Coalition – 15.3%
– Black Birds Squadron – 10.7%
– United German Commanders Coalition – 9%
– The Imperial Inquisition – 8.5%
– Achenar Immortals Coalition – 7.3%
– Planet Express – 3.6%
– Black Omega – 2.3%
– Pileus Libertas – 1.6%
– Battle Vortex – 0.7%
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for voting, and all of the groups for their amazing effort! We will have more news on the next phase of the games shortly where the qualified groups will be looking for your help to complete the Community Goals and help their campaign.
Overhaul Feedback Cascade: Now rather than breaking the shields, will inhibit the shield cell to only heal 10% of what it otherwise would do, and will deal direct damage to the shield cell bank equal to half the weapon damage
Hyperspace is now much bigger to accommodate large ships —- WTF?!
What about moving to an already owned ship in the shipyard?
Need to look for this….
Makes scooping the stuff that drops ‘interesting’ since of course it’s falling to the ground!
New features in 2.1
Is loot the ‘materials’ that drop when you kill someone?
Data Materials and ‘Physical’ Materials
New Mission Board
“If there are no missions, give text which tells players what other things they could do to help”
New Outfitting Screen
Stuff to do in Ice Rings
Various Resource Zones
Updates to the Galaxy Map
(Known?) Engineer bases
Huge Beam Laser
Huge Pulse Laser
Huge Multi Cannon
Large Mult Cannon
New art for our guns
So far Elite ships seem to want to run away when their shields go down, then come back in when they are back up. — Ben
Lots of complaints on the Forums that the AI has become too hard. I got a shock when my A rated FDL got owned by a Expert Python. Going to make the grind getting to Combat Elite a lot more difficult because only pilots above your rank and one below count towards your Pilot rating. – C.
Can now get skins from the store
“NPC encounters can occur near planet surfaces”
“Shipping lanes are created between the primary star, stations, and planets with settlements.”
Can scan nav beacons now – (Already done this – Very useful – C)
“Allow cargo to be transferred to a newly bought ship, if it has adequate cargo space”
What is “Fix Goliath crime component crash”?
“Change the default number of items per page in Exploration selling from 20 to 50 following from server-side optimisations that make this plausible”
“Added suspension travel prediction to SRV physics” — No idea what this means but it sounds awesome!
Needed because lots of experimental effects that do crazy stuff… FD just can’t test EVERY combination. Need us to game the system and try to break things 🙂
How Does this benefit exploration
Better armor, hull so less damage etc
Can we see the Stats of a crafted upgrade
It’s in the list
Should Pirates be so interested in Limpets
Pin > 1 recipe / engineer
Not for now
Reputer (spelling!) Laser (Heat through shields laser)
It should be working now!
Seem some ships going to 8000% heat which is a ‘bit op’ 🙂 Adding in Diminishing Returns from heat by multiple weapons but they don’t want to instantly boil you up if you avoid heat / use heat syncs etc.
AI Running away
Been fixed but not in yet
Why no enhanced thrusters in space
Engineers for Horizons only – 😛
Sorting? Better sorting and filtering in the future…
Are all mods 1-5
Not ALL modules have ALL grades
Will be added to
Get off the fence and make a decision to buy or not buy!
In general higher ranks better modules
What works to improve your rep with engineers?
FD are looking into it, maybe using combat / bounty vouchers etc….
What does major fac rep have?
It acts as a modifier to all associated factions
Why no class 4 lasers
Coming ‘soon’ – hopefully!!!
Can we get large / huge missile racks?
Not at the moment – FD don’t want to give missiles LOADS more ammo
Please test missiles
Point Defence vs ECM
Point defence is where they want it
ECM needs work but they’re working on it no eta etc…
Will we give cannons a look?
YES Cannons will be getting a buff
Increased damage at distance
Increase ‘hardness’ i.e better vs large ships
Increase penetration – i.e. more dps to modules
More info on planet scans and stuff
Really cool ideas will be revisited later but Sandy can’t say 🙂
Why does the System map take so long to open?
Because it’s having to work out all the stars and planets
It’s a bug bear of Sandy’s too
Increase the speeds of mission boards? (I.E. pre load when you land)
Sandy will try to find out
Please give Single Skin for all types rather than multiple skins / ship
Not Sandy’s remit but valid question
Bookmarks infinite plotting bug
Sandy isn’t sure but will look into
Why can we enter any hanger in our SRV and then teleport to OUR hanger?
Because finding the right hanger is hard and NOT fun.
Sandy is a cat person 🙂
Will materials be added to commodity markets?
You can also get them from missions
Why is it called Recipes?
They will be renamed with something more appropriate!
Has the heat gen from firing weapons made it into CQC too?
Yes – but FD are watching it
Less Heat Sync makes it harder to use SCBs
Yes that’s deliberate
There is some method as to where you can find materials.
FD will add the ability to ‘interrogate’ materials to HELP find out where you can find them.
FD will ‘munge’ some of the lower resources to there’s not so many of them makes lower recipes easier
Not at the moment
NPCs using SRVs
Big work but not at the moment
Hope ppl think it’s better
Lower should be about same as b4
Higher should be harder
Should stop running away so much
FD are adding alternative behaviour to make it more fun
Drop out distance is based on how far from a grav well you are
Can we get smart collector limpets to discard some stuff
NO but it’s a good idea
Engineers further out
More syntheses recipes
Yes – chaff, heat sync etc
Collapse Mechanic in PP?
Sandy doesn’t know but it’s being looked at.
Engineer Qualifications are retroactive so we’ll have a bunch to look at when 2.1 hits. But rem some engineers invite you to others.

Elite Dangerous: Horizons for Xbox One will launch in quarter two of 2016, featuring both 2.0: Planetary Landings and the forthcoming 2.1: The Engineers expansions.
Descriptions of Engineers
Where to find Engineers
Engineers each have their own surface bases. These are quite different from surface starports. Many began as secret bases, embedded deep in the rock, but as their bases grew they became bigger and bolder, in some cases smelting their own ore – something very hard to hide from space!
How to ‘use’ an engineer
Make them like you.
The ore the like you the more stuff they offer to make. (Called Blueprints)
Get the Reagents
Make it – Actual attributes are random within a range.
Accept or Reject it and try again (assuming you have the resources)
As well as crafting upgrades, some have their own stock of specialist equipment, such as Professor Palin and his recent development of the corrosion resistant cargo racks that can safely carry the elusive alien artefact
More Engineer Mods
Modulating Burst Fire System designed to defeat shielding. A small amount of thermal damage is able to bleed through shields and attack the target’s hull directly.
Modified Warheads capable of enveloping a target with energetic particles. Successful strikes to shield or hull dramatically increase the target vessels signature. Example Video
Station Commander Stroud takes us through a busy weeks worth of updates and even more exciting reveals, we also have answers from Zac Antonaci from last weeks show to go through.. a real bumper episode.
Better navigation, layout just quality of life goodness
Q: CMDR Heisenberg B. Damned The newsletter said: “human-created POIs will also not be encountered as far out from human space as they are at the moment” I think that’s pretty welcome but are there going to be no POI’s when far away from the bubble or are we going to be getting different POI’s if out exploring? If different do you have any hints on what non human-created POI’s will contain?
A: Finding ‘tea’ is maybe excessive whilst out in the black and shouldn’t find human rubbish so far out.
Lost diamondback is part of “the missing”
‘Other stuff’ that MB isn’t allowed to talk about!
Q: Imeraxes Any news about POI in space like Antares wreckship, whith may be, CQC asset ? Cheers, CMDR Iméraxes
A: Still looking at using CQC structures in the main game but NOT part of 2.1
Q: Alec Turner “Scanning a nav beacon will give Commanders the exploration data for the system (if you don’t already have it).” – does that mean we no longer need to carry a discovery scanner in order to get data for systems with nav beacons?
FD Always wanted to do more with Nav Beacons
Doesn’t supplant Exploration Data
Only within populated space
MB Always has a scanner because you never know…
If you’re on a mission the nav beacon can point you in the right direction. You can find the body the mission can be fulfilled at then need to search that planet / moon.
Q: Barking_Mad As well as the graphical improvements to the ring systems, has any further work been done on planetary surfaces?
A: Rings improved distance as well as up close
Updated surface terrain system (higher res AND better performance)
Lessons learned from the past
Q: sensai25 Are enemy ships limited around bases to attack ?
A: No but you’re more likely to encounter them around existing ‘stuff’
Got ways to deal with ‘rocket spam’
Can encounter ships flying from one base to another
Looking to increase security response where appropriate
Q: M4rt1n In the beta before the release of ED there were cool weapon variants, like overcharged, low-heat, focused, high-impact etc. which somehow disappeared upon release. Will the engineers’ crafting options somehow re-introduce these variants, or will there be totally different?
A: These variants are no longer compatible with Engineers and will no longer be in game at all BUT you can do much better cool cool stuff with Engineers
Q: Bliss Will the new Ship AI be able to handle canyon flight on a planet’s surface?
A: Yes, I’ve seen them do just that, but sometimes they’re better than we are!
Q: Arubeto Newsletter 120: “For Commanders who prefer to roam the galaxy looking for wars, the Pilots Federation has upgraded the GalNet system, so Commanders using 2.1 AND 1.6 will have a ‘state’ filter in the galaxy map which will highlight if a system is at war, or suffering a famine, or some other situation Commanders want information about.” I think this has lead to some misunderstandings. Can you confirm that the exploration data acquired this way can’t be sold, but only gives you the information about the system (therefore imitating the process of buying exploration data about a system from Universal Cartographics instead of imitating exploring as system manually?
A: Yes it does, it can not be sold.
Q: ape808 About the new Galaxy map filters: Since we will be able to filter for system states (boom/famine/war etc), will these be having more effect on gameplay? I think it may have been mentioned during the Trading livestream that the devs were considering giving states more of an impact on markets and the missions available. Is this the case for 2.1 and can you give a bit more detail if so?
A: Yes, we’re pushing the effects that states will have. Will drive missions, affect traffic, affect commodity prices (this is exaggerated)
Q: DarkMatterGenerator “Scanning a nav beacon will give Commanders the exploration data for the system (if you don’t already have it).” How did this decision arise- what is the gameplay and design thought behind it since it really changes a basic function in game from 1.5 years of play?
A: Always been a need to do something with nav beacons, it’s just ‘filling in those blanks’
Q: CMDR Dana Jessica Booth Which ships exactly will be getting the ‘drives’ upgrade. Does this mean FSD or Thrusters? Just the sidewinder? All ships that equip class 1-3 thrusters? If its thrusters will any of these changes come over into the cqc flight model? Also regarding 2.1 will someone take another pass at the Cobra mk4 and give it the massive speed buff it needs? (it’s currently slower than a T-7…)
A: Sizes 2 and 3 (MB thinks!) very much enhanced performance – still needs some tweaking
Makes smaller ships a lot of fun to play in
Racing with more speed is more fun!
Prices will be not tremendously expensive but gotta rem this is the ultimate upgrade for that slot, so…
Q: ape808 (again) Will the AI ships near the surface apply to the full range of low to high-G bodies? If so, were there any special considerations the AI devs had to take to get the ships to behave well in high-G conditions?
A: they are very wary and won’t even attempt some of the high g worlds. Some ships can handle High G worlds better than others
Q: Dave G Within the new mission system, will there also be changes to support “Navy” missions for the players who are focussed on naval progression? Also, will mission successes result in the introduction to other missions or mission givers?
A: Will go into more detail in the news letter. MB REALLY wants to see a career in the military but will live with this for now. You develop a relationship with mission givers who give you better and better missions. Also your Pilots Fed Ranking counts on how they talk to you.
AI Improvements – Yes they can fly in atmosphere – be careful!
SRV types not for 2.1
Hopefully better performance on lower end machines
NPC WILL use these modified weapons
Ctrl options screen gets a good revamp too
X-Box players hugely extended options (as covered last week)
Cmdr Spike wants to know if he can have pink lasers come 2.1.
No nothing in pink but mining laser is close. No rainbows!
Will there be improved In game Player Group support? (basically guilds!!!)
No specific functionality in 2.1. Longer term things they’d like to do.
Will there be ‘wing missions’?
Not in 2.1 but nothing to talk about just now
Will player actions lead to procedurally generated missions? I.E. player A discovers something ‘interesting’ and reports that to Station B. Station B and radiating out starts generating missions related to said found thing.
Not in the way that this covers but see the comments from Thursday 21st + see this Thursday’s stream
PLEASE can we have a reason to go to Ice Rings?
Conflict zones at interesting locations!
Not in 2.1. On going process maybe in the future
Can we fly through asteroids? Also REALLY big Asteroids 🙂
See the wish list!
More life in the universe! I.E. Ships preparing at stations etc?
Would love to have more life in certain ways. Some stuff Zac can’t talk about. Also stuff in 2.1 i.e. traffic lanes etc. On going process
More tools to interact with the environment? I.E. with the Barnacles all we can really do is shoot them!!!
Watch this space for more things to do with Barnacles
Communicate with NPCs (I.E. demand them to stand down)
Definitely somewhere on the list and being considered
Will we ever get a ‘call for help’ implement feature?
The chat view and the auto responses from systems (and this will be updated in 2.1) A lot of thought a lot of balance
What does retreat mean for the BGS?
MB will be talking about this ‘quite shortly’
More specific examples of changes to crime and punishment. I.E. stations refusing to let you dock.
Something the dev team have looked at and engaged quite deeply with the community for. However this all takes time.
Will the AI ‘cheat’ less? I.E. No more firing 6 beam lasers at you from an Eagle whilst next to a sun!
The AI doesn’t cheat very much even now.Only a very few instances of ‘cheating’ all done for gameplay but for the most part the AI’s equipment functions the same as a player characters. AI Can overheat and does regulate itself.
Will there be improvements to the the High Level AI? I.E. make Reidquat SCARY
We’ll see some love in 2.1. The mistress has done a lot of work
Will we see more A or B CGs? I.E. Faction A wants to build a ship. Faction B wants to stop that.
Look at the Dangerous Games for good examples tug of war CGs 🙂
CMDR Daddy baddy – I have a discussion point for 106. How long do we think the horizons season will be? If say 2.1 and 1.6 are released after beta in June. And we assume that season 3 starts Xmas 2016 … That means 2.2, 2.3 and perhaps the unconfirmed 2.4 being squashed into 6 months!
Glenn Frank – when season three rolls out… will people get all that is in horizons too with purchase of season three? does not matter to me cause I bought the lifetime but… wondering”
Ben’s Ideas – Elite Dangerous: Walkies for 24.99 Elite Dangerous: Horizons for 9.99 Elite Dangerous: For 9.99 or maybe just Elite Dangerous: Walkies for 24.99 Elite Dangerous: Other Stuff for 19.99 Naturally we will also get Elite Dangerous Mongo Pack for 39.99 which has everything in it
On the Horizon – Countdown to The Engineers Beta Livestream: Part 2
Stretch Goal! OK, so I have to be careful how I word this as I can’t give too much away without spoiling it… We want to do an extra segment in the film that will involve a part of a certain person’s history. (No prizes for guessing who.) The segment is about a part of his career that has been captured on film. And it’s a corker! But we need to buy the rights to the footage. This is going to cost us an extra £2,500 for commercial use, so if we reach £10,500 by Thursday night we can buy this and it will be truly awesome. Also, if we can raise the extra cash, we have secured a location to film in which is almost just as exciting (it involves somewhere Charlie Chaplin used to live). I know this seems a bit cloak and dagger but when you see the segment in the finished film you’ll immediately understand the reason for the secrecy – and know that you made it possible! If we can do this, it’s going to add extra footage to the film, which had previously been thought lost! It will also raise the film’s exposure even more, and push it out to an even wider audience – and that could be a really, really good thing. Once again I just want to say a massive thanks to everyone for your support! Still 2 days to go so let’s see where that can take us 🙂
Shout out to Cmdr Yan and his mam (Allen for actual wording!)

“I fully intend to continue researching the Unknown Artefacts and meta-alloys, albeit in a more inconspicuous fashion, at my personal research centre on Maia A 3 a. Those who wish to visit me there are very welcome to do so. There is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with those who share my interests!”
The top five factions based on a mix of factors such as their expansion and influence will be competing against each other for the incredible honour of becoming the first ever player-created power in game! We’ve taken the top five player factions as they currently stand and these groups have already qualified for the event.
The five factions who have qualified for this event are as follows (In no perticular order)
Border Coalition [BC] (qualified faction – Dukes of Mikunn)
Social Eleu Progressive Party [SEPP]
Interstellar Communist Union [ICU]
Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corp [AEDC]
GalCop (qualified faction – Diamond Frogs)
Also included a Wildcard entry – People’s Choice
this faction will have earned their place in The Dangerous Games through their ability to rally Commanders to their cause.
Wildcard games to take place before the main Dangerous Games
There will be a CG for each competing group and their task is to ensure that the CG is completed or at a high tier than their competitors. Groups will be ranked each week and given points based on where they were placed for each CG. At the end of the four weeks one group will emerge victorious.
Everyone can get involved by either supporting or competing against any individual group or CG they wish. This means that every faction should be looking to gain support and favour with other Elite Dangerous Commanders and forge alliances to support their Rise to Power.
The Rise to Power four-week-long event is due to start on the 30th June 2016

Peter Wotherspoon asks I’d be interested to hear whether Sarah Jane Avory’s tweets about unleashing upgraded minions mean we’re going to need to treat solid squares on the radar with a bit more respect.
@LaveRadio My advice: if you see an Elite AI… I’d run… and run fast…
@SarahJaneAvory @ericlundgren5 @LaveRadio The new combat AI is better at everything… at the high ranks. Low ranks are much easier.

Poor Ishmael Palin (the prominent Barnicle expert) so far has been attacked by pirates, kidnapped and finally rescued. However his bad luck has continued as he’s now contracted the Cerberus Plague. You’d think someone has it in for him, he’s having so much bad luck. 😉
The campaign from the Canonn Interstellar Research Group to establish a new research outpost in the Col 285 Sector IX-T d3-43 system has been successful. A new outpost will be constructed ‘soon’ which will help with more research into the UA.
A rogue Farragut Battle Cruiser somewhere? There were reports last week of a Federal Battle Cruiser with Pirate markings in the LHS 3447.
Speaking of Farragut Battle Cruisers, the construction of the Latest Cruiser in the Beti Hydri system has the Empire worried. If more cruisers are constructed, sources close to Admiral Denton Patreus say that the empire might have to respond in kind.
In response to the New Battle Cruiser and rhetoric coming from the Empire; the Alliance has held a diplomatic summit at the Alliance Capital looking at possible responses.

Default In-game choices to be made by the DDF
“It’s been a long time, but we are finally able to move towards some of the things we discussed during the Kickstarter with respect to the DDF and the ability of members to decide together on significant actions within the game. There are some big events coming to the game later this year (in relation to an alien species – trying to minimise spoilers here!), and members will decide where these events first take place, and how the process moves on down the line. This will be by voting on the DDF forum with a choice of possible locations. As the events unfold, there will be further such choices going forwards.”

Wants to introduce effects to degrade Collusion Piracy (current options)
Creating a voting system to allow Commanders, by the act of majority will, to withdraw from poor control systems, ensuring mechanisms are in place to prevent profitable systems from being voted out.
Utilising an UP / DOWN vote feature, which would exist primarily to be a channel of communication within the game for pledged Commanders) to also provide veto functionality at the preparation stage, allowing, by the act of majority will, poor control system candidates from being purchased as expansion targets.
Introducing a combo mechanism for fortification allotments, limiting the purchase of rushed allotments based on successful deliveries – the more you deliver the more you can pay to rush – whilst adding temporary fortification disbarring for losing fortification commodities.
Sandro – “And since I’m in the mood for pulling hand grenades , here’s another thing to chew on: I’m currently rather taken by the concept of a success multiplier for Commanders in Open Play. this modifier would not improve personal gains from power play activities, but it would magnify the effectiveness of a power’s actions (expand, oppose, fortify, undermine). And the effect would probably be significant.
Power Play by design encourages player interaction and FD want to encourage that. “Powerplay will always be at its best when opposing Commanders interact directly”
consumers will be able to test out the HTC Vive within the next week at Currys PC World flagship stores in Leeds, Tottenham Court Road, and Reading.
Ian Honcharenko — “Question for the team: With the rise in popularity of 24hr charity streams and the advertising in the newsletter last week of a race requiring approximately 38 hours commuted flight time in a 2 day period, I put the question to you should frontier be promoting such events despite the inherent health risks and chance of negative press (such as the numerous game addiction articles in both professional medical journals and less professional tabloid newspapers).I’d just add that last year’s Voyager winner did it in 40 hours with a 2 hr nap.”
From the newsletter— Probably one of the craziest endurance challenges in the galaxy, the 2nd Annual Voyager Challenge kicks off on March 24, 2016. Head over to the original forum post to find out how you can get involved. Can you make 60,000 light years in under 40 hours? According to event organisers, last year’s record was an incredible 38 hours, 44 minutes! It’ll take some doing, but we know that there must be some Commanders out there with the tenacity to get this done! Remember, fly safe Commanders! Make sure you take regular breaks, look after yourselves and be sensible with any long play sessions.
Also worth working in the Hutton Orbital Gimp run with the race to Sag A
Also arguably FD’s original race to Elite and what the guy to get the Triple did to win that
First, in addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we’re enabling developers to support cross-network play as well. This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks – including other console and PC networks. Of course, it’s up to game developers to support this feature, and Xbox Live players will always have the option of choosing to play only with other Xbox Live players.

It is SO fast, but it still makes me nervous that I will get stuck out of fuel in a brown dwarf desert.) Shameless Plug for the REALLY BIG GAS TANK Methinks
CMDR Smugallo – Id love to hear the cast each try an impression of someone not a discussion i know hahaj.

“With minor faction states we’re intending making their effects more noticeable on available missions, ship traffic and composition, and markets. At the moment these can be quite subtle, so beefing them up with add more drama to a star system.”
“authority response if they are attacked will be sharper.”
Wider range of rewards than just credits
Hard to find commodities / salvage items
Some may be mission rewards only and could tie into story events
Rewards will be more appropriate to the risk.
Rewards will also increase the more a faction likes you.

New paint job packs for the Imperial Courier and the Type 6
This week we want to share with you something we’ve been thinking about for some time, in response to the many requests we’ve had since the Kickstarter. Naming NPCs, renaming planets and even having a named surface marker to commemorate a special person, thing or event, are all things you’ve been asking for. We are considering adding these items and more to the Frontier Store, including star system naming and creation and naming of new surface starports. We would love to know your opinion on this, and gauge interest. In order to keep these items special we would limit the availability of each, and if it works well, we would have a batch in each future expansion too.
Arubeto – “Really? This is open to discussion? Guess we won’t be visiting “Sagittarius A*” anymore…”
Zac – “Allow me to clarify. Everyone is very conscious about making sure that the naming of things are done in a way that does not ruin existing names. What I mean to say is that we want your feedback here to make sure that we consider everything, so even if things seem obvious, let us know your thoughts on what you would like or wouldn’t like as part of this process. We’ve seen some really great feedback already”
Trailer Competition – The winner has been announced for the trailer competition. Commander NOTONLYHERE came up with a blinder including timed delay shots of cities, coordinated ship launches, SRV races etc. The trailer can be found at :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cF4qln6-qUw
Main story “The furor surrounding FD’s delay of 2.1 and recent stock exchange news”
Accounting-wise, Horizons will now “leave early access” and be considered “released” after 31st May.
Accounting-wise, revenue from the sales of Horizons will be deferred to FY2016-2017’s financials (starting June 1st), instead of being included in FY2015-2016’s financials (which ends May 31st).
FDev will pay less tax in FY2015-2016, choosing instead to pay more the following year.
Comment from DB “What it means is that 2.1 is pushed out by around 6 weeks. This is to push the quality up, which is a good thing for the game. It’s ready when it’s ready. It does mean you’ll have to wait a bit longer, but it will be worth the wait.”
Post by Zac Hey guys,
This morning we released a trading update that we wanted to share with you.
The update explains that our next instalment of the Horizons season of expansions (2.1 – The Engineers) which was previously planned for April will now move into the beginning of our next financial year. We’re aiming for to release the beta in May.
We’re sorry to keep you waiting, but the Engineers is a truly colossal update and this additional time is being used to ensure that the new content is of the highest quality possible. We take great pride in all of the content we produce and we firmly believe that giving this additional development time is the right thing to do for the game, the studio and the fantastic community of players.
You can read the update here: http://www.frontier.co.uk/investor_r…l=edit&blk=275 Thanks,
